Logitech Harmony 555 Remote Control

As you might know from one of my previous posts, I got myself a Logitech Harmony 555 Remote Control unit. I found out that it is a real challenge to make it work with Media Portal and the Antect Fusion 430 v2 case. The story seems to be like this: The panel supplied with the Antec has a built in remote receiver, which in fact is an OEM built by SoundGraph. Therefore I installed the latest version of the iMON software from the SoundGraph site.

The Logitech Harmony 555 comes with a neat configuration utility which directly connects to the Logitech website, and has the remote control settings for almost all remote controlled equipment available for download into the Harmony Remote. I decided to configure the remote as an MCE remote working with the Antec Fusion case.

After putting these configurations in, I tested the system, but unfortunately not all the keys on the remote seem to work. I can not - as an example - while watching TV switch the channels, neither with the numeric keys, nor with the ch+ or ch- keys.

Up until now I did not find a solution for this problem, but I will keep you posted.

IR Server Suite to resolve Remote Control Problems
According to a thread in the Media Portal Forum, the IR Server Suite will enable me to resolve the problem I had with my Harmony 555 remote control. The setup to make it all work is not straight forward, but finally I succeeded in solving all the problems

Hey,

kan je al de HTPC uitzetten (in standby) en terug aanzette (laten wakker worden) met de remote? Hoe heb je dat gedaan?

Daar ben ik nog niet aan toe gekomen. Ik ben nog aan het worstelen met de instellingen van de remote control.

Vriend van mij heeft groot deels dezelfde setup en deze heb ik even geleend van hem
Ik heb zelf ook de 555 en ik heb via Logitech de het apparaat als MCE van Microsoft ingesteld. Dit werkte prima.
Ik heb niet alle knoppen of combo's uit geprobeerd maar misschien helpt het.

Vriend van mij heeft wel iets aangepast in de antec kast met betrekking tot de stroom toevoer naar het display. Bij Imon is daar info over te vinden.

Bedankt voor de info. Ik ben op dit moment aan het testen met IR Server Suite als plugin voor Media Portal. Ik probeer vandaag of morgen een update op de site te plaatsen.
